After the Pattern explores the patterns we carry through life - inherited habits, expectations, beliefs, and familiar ways of being. Through repetition, disruption, and shifting forms, the works sit between what remains familiar and what begins to change.

Baggage

Macraweave

Baggage holds a familiar pattern under strain. Sections pull against one another, carrying more weight than they were meant to hold. The work stays in the narrow space between holding on and giving way, letting pressure become part of its form.

As Is

Experimental floating-warp weaving

As Is moves through a pattern that begins to loosen. Lines drift from their usual paths, opening gaps that shift the surface. The piece accepts the pattern as it stands and keeps moving anyway, letting the structure lean toward whatever comes next.

Second Nature returns to familiar techniques with a changed hand, adding new layers to patterns lived with over time. As woven surfaces shift and layer, the work reshapes what it once knew, letting experience turn the familiar into something more personal - a second nature.

Light at the Helm

Flat-loom weaving

Light at the Helm moves through the space where feelings shift in subtle, softened waves - warm and cool, bright and muted. The slow rhythm of weaving on a flat loom lets each state tilt into the next before it fully settles. Dense texture holds a kind of weight, then loosens into a lighter field above, creating a gentle tension between what anchors and what lifts. There is a small flicker in these changes, a touch of sweetness, a touch of unease, like steering through water that keeps changing beneath you.

Tracer

Tracer began from the sense of being inside something damaged and noticing what still moves through it. There is weight and disruption, but also a smaller presence running alongside - a flicker, a direction, a possibility.

The piece was woven horizontally with its final vertical orientation in mind, allowing the pattern to take on a different character once turned. What once lay as a field became something that rises.

Amongst ruin, defiance. From ruin, a defiant hope.

Morning Trail

Morning Trail comes from the softness of being out early, when the day feels open and unhurried, and from the quiet pleasure in simply following whatever path appears.

Loose textures gather in gentle forms, drifting and settling in their own way. Some areas feel light, others more grounded, giving the piece the slow, shifting sense of a morning coming into focus.

Khmer-inspired Woven Wall Hanging

Flat-loom weaving

This piece celebrates the rich heritage of brocade weaving among the Khmer people of the Mekong Delta. Inspired by heirloom Khmer textiles traditionally woven on floor looms, its intricate patterns are reinterpreted on a modern flat loom using twill and overshot weaving techniques.
