Soulful Making
Soul & Fiber was founded in 2020 by Vietnamese textile artist Thao Pham. What began as a personal space for making and self‑discovery has slowly grown into a textile practice, studio, and shop in Ho Chi Minh City.
Thao’s work is shaped by everyday moments, the places she travels to, the people she meets, and the changes that happen along the way. Most pieces start from a feeling, a color, a texture, or simply the urge to make, then unfold through an intuitive process of observing, adjusting, and responding.
Working across weaving, macrame, crochet, and mixed‑fiber techniques, Thao creates textile artworks, commissions, and lifestyle pieces and accessories. Soul & Fiber is also a working studio and community space, where she and a small team continue to explore materials, create together, and host weaving workshops for the local community.

The process of creating textile work takes time - from preparing materials and setting up the foundation to slowly building each piece and adjusting as it comes to life. At Soul & Fiber, the focus is on making by hand and letting each step guide the outcome, rather than rushing toward a fixed result.
Through this practice, the studio hopes to contribute to Vietnam’s growing contemporary craft scene and bring fresh energy to textile arts.
